This hike is ideal for lovers of adventure, nature and local cultural experiences in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Andean communities of farmers, shepherds and weavers open their doors with a beautiful welcoming ceremony and demonstration of their textile crafts. Discover the agricultural terraces of Huchuy Qosqo overlooking the Urubamba Valley, majestic archaeological sites, and meet the local inhabitants in a corner of Peru unknown to the general public. On the last day of the excursion, visit the historical legacy of Machu Picchu, one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Pick up from hotel in Cusco. At 6:00 am, we leave Cusco by private transportation to head to the village of Patabamba (3,800m / 12,466ft), the upper part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The community of Patabamba opens its welcoming arms for the presentation of its local culture and philosophy of life. A trail will take you to discover a natural landscape of spectacular views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the town of Pisac.
From Patabamba, the 6-hour hike begins along an ancient Inca Trail, to Qoricocha (3,800m / 12,466ft), a lagoon that is en route to a Panoramic viewpoint (4,500m / 14,763ft) from there we continue along a downhill trail, passing by some families living in typical constructions with thatched roofs. Then we enter the mini canyon of Leon Punku and a stream will take you to Huchuy Qosqo (3,600m / 11,811ft). Discover Huchuy Qosqo, an Inca archaeological complex located on a plateau and supported by agricultural terraces, it also contemplates a scenario of spectacular views of the Urubamba mountain range.
Later, continuing along a steep road will take you to the interior of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The village of Lamay (2,940m / 9,645ft), is the place where our private transportation awaits you for the transfer to the community of Willoc (3,650m / 11,975ft) or another community of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Overnight at the local inhabitant’s house.

Community known for its ancestral textile art, you will have the opportunity to discover their elaborate techniques and admire their craftsmanship in ceramics and textiles. You will also learn about the ancestral techniques for the cultivation of potatoes, moraya and chuño (dehydrated potato) and the cultivation of Maiz. Also, learn and experience the use of medicinal herbs that are deeply rooted in the local culture. The objective is to share a moment with the local inhabitants, respecting the customs and traditions of a local culture. You will also have the opportunity to share typical Peruvian gastronomy made with natural ingredients from the community.
Después de un desayuno saludable y compartir algunas experiencias en la comunidad de Willoc, iniciamos la caminata hacia Ollantaytambo (2,800m / 9,186ft). En ruta, tomaremos el antiguo camino utilizado por los Incas, durante su peregrinaje al pueblo de Ollantaytambo, que fue la puerta de entrada a Machu Picchu. Descubra la historia de los Incas, mientras disfruta de la naturaleza andina. Visita Ollantaytambo, un típico pueblo de extraordinaria planificación urbana de los Incas. También es posible visitar el centro arqueológico de Ollantaytambo (no incluido pero recomendado). Luego hará un increíble viaje en tren al pueblo de Aguas Calientes (2,050m / 6,725ft). Pasa la noche en un confortable hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. We leave our hotel after breakfast and board the tourist bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu (30 min.). The sunrise and the company of a professional guide will allow you to discover the history and culture of the Incas, as well as the cults and ceremonies they performed in the numerous temples and sacred places present at the site. After 2-3 hours of guided tour, you will enjoy the magic of the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu to take some pictures in memory of your own experience.
Looking to climb Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu hill?
If you wish to be compensated with an exceptional view of Machu Picchu as seen from above, we propose to climb Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu hill (the entrance to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu hill must be booked in advance, preferably at the same time you book the entrance to Machu Picchu).
Afterwards, return to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have lunch in an exclusive restaurant before boarding the train to Ollantaytambo/Poroy, then our private transportation will take you to your hotel in Cusco (3,400 m).
